Martin Luther King Day isn’t just another day off; it’s a time to honor
the great civil-rights leader’s legacy through a National Day of

The Margaret T. Hance Park is located in central Phoenix. It is
sometimes referred to as Margaret T. Hance Deck Park. It
is home to the Japanese Tea House and Friendship Garden, the Irish
Cultural Center, and the annual St. Patrick's Day Irish Family Faire.
The Scottish Highland Games came to the park in 2008. It is an unusual park, in that it is actually built on top of the I-10
tunnel, hence the name "deck" park. It is named after a
former Mayor of the City of Phoenix. Margaret T. Hance served as
Phoenix Mayor from 1976 to 1984. She passed away in 1990.
