ARIZONA BLACK FILM SHOWCASE CALL FOR ENTRIES


(Tempe, AZ)  -- The Arizona Black Film Showcase is now accepting film submissions for the 2010 edition of this independent film event.  The 2010 Showcase is set to take place from March 26 to March 28, 2010 in Tempe, Arizona.

AZBFS solicits independent feature film entries produced with budgets for less than $1,000,000, and short film entries produced for less than $100,000.  Prizes will be presented for filmmaking excellence in short and feature film categories to be determined by a panel of judges.  Log on to www.azblackfilm.com for information on how to submit films for competition and presentation.

Film Submission Deadlines:

Early Bird:         December 19, 2009
Regular:         December 31, 2009
Late:             January 15, 2010
WithoutABox:            January 22, 2010


The Arizona Black Film Showcase is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the dynamic works of African-American filmmakers and filmmakers whose works embrace the Black cultural experience on a national and international level. AZBFS prides itself on uniting aspiring and established filmmakers in a setting designed to share knowledge, resources and talent from around the world. 

The Showcase has had the honor and privilege of hosting a number of esteemed industry professionals who have been gracious in sharing their time and experience with bourgeoning talent.  Guests have included award-winning actress Lynn Whitfield (“The Josephine Baker Story,” “A Thin Line Between Love And Hate”), producer-director Lee Daniels (“Precious,” “Monster’s Ball,”), actor and author Hill Harper (“Lackawanna Blues,” “CSI:NY”), actor-director Bill Duke (“A Rage In Harlem,” “Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit”), actor-comedian Wayne Brady (“The Wayne Brady Show,” “Let’s Make A Deal”), Reginald Hudlin (“House Party,” “Boomerang”), and others.
